Disclaimer and Liability

By the South Africa Casinos Online editorial team Updated 7 minutes

The publisher of southafricacasinosonline.co.za, Zarafel Publishing FZ-LLC (Building 4, Dubai Media City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates), sets out here how far its guide reaches. What follows marks out how far our guide reaches and where the publisher’s responsibility ends. Reading on means accepting it. The terms and conditions and the commercial partnerships page complete the picture.

Part 1 – The guide and its boundaries

1.1 Writers, not a casino

Our trade is describing casinos, slots and bookmakers. Running games, taking bets, opening player accounts and moving deposits or withdrawals are all things we never do. No gambling authority, South African or foreign, has licensed the publisher. If a review names a licence, it is reporting the operator’s paperwork, not vouching for it.

1.2 Gambling law in South Africa

Under section 11 of the 2004 National Gambling Act it is forbidden offering an interactive game unless national law allows it, and no national licence for online casino play has been issued. Betting is a separate matter: bookmakers receive their licences from provincial gambling boards. Several brands covered here answer only to a regulator overseas. Which operators you may legally use is decided by the law that governs you; verifying that falls to you. No page of ours amounts to a legal opinion about any brand.

1.3 Age

Adults only. Gambling in this country starts at 18 under the law, so readers younger than that should leave every operator button alone.

1.4 Operators licensed abroad

Expect to meet licences from Curaçao, Malta, Anjouan and elsewhere in our reviews. Such a permit lets the brand trade under that regulator’s rulebook. It does not legalise the brand in South Africa, and no provincial board will take up your complaint against it. These operators appear because readers search for them, not because we consider them safe or allowed. A foreign licence is one data point; confirm it on the regulator’s public register instead of trusting a badge in a casino footer.

Part 2 – How to read what we publish

2.1 Description, not counsel

Reviews, bonus write-ups, banking guides and betting explainers paint products in broad strokes. None of it is personal advice on investments, money, law or tax, and none of it knows your situation. Where real money or real consequences are at stake, speak to a qualified professional.

2.2 Amounts in rand

Where an operator advertises in rand, so do we. Where it advertises in euro or dollars, our rand figure is a conversion done on the day of writing. Exchange rates wander, and the cashier may show a different number.

2.3 Accuracy and dates

Welcome packages, playthrough multiples, banking options and cash-out ceilings shift, at times overnight and unannounced. Look for the “Updated” line on every page. Before depositing, hold our summary up against the operator’s current rules; whenever the two disagree, the operator’s version governs your account.

2.4 Game figures

RTP, volatility, top payouts and similar numbers originate with the studios that build the games. A casino can host a differently configured copy of the same slot, so its lobby may show a higher or lower figure than our review does.

2.5 Ratings are opinions

Every score is an editorial judgement made under our rating guidelines. A high mark does not promise good treatment by the operator. List order and highlighted slots also reflect commercial agreements, as the commercial partnerships page sets out.

2.6 The archive

Older reviews and news items sometimes concern brands, events or markets beyond South Africa. They remain online as a record, receive no updates and are no endorsement today.

2.7 Bonuses and wagering

Our bonus box condenses a much longer contract. That contract usually holds conditions no table can carry: slots and tables contributing at different rates, a stake ceiling while bonus money is in play, caps on winnings, excluded countries, and deadlines counted in days or hours. Operators may also pull an offer, restrict it to new customers or deny it to an individual player. Our summary never overrules those conditions, and we have no power to make an operator honour a promotion for you.

2.8 Payments and withdrawal times

A list of EFT, instant EFT, vouchers, cards or e-wallets reflects the cashier on the day we looked. Banks sometimes block gambling payments, operators often demand identity documents before the first payout, and speed varies with method and weekday. Any payout time we quote is typical, never guaranteed by the operator or by us.

2.9 Odds, tips and predictions

Prices in betting articles were accurate at the moment of checking and keep moving afterwards. Previews and tips are opinions about matches nobody can foresee. No system makes betting pay over time, so never let a preview push your stake past your plan.

2.10 Screenshots and illustrations

Screenshots freeze a lobby, cashier or game as it looked when captured. Designs and menus change, so after signing up the screen may look different. Decorative drawings on the site are our own and portray no actual casino, table or product, and a picture of chips or cards next to a review tells you nothing about that brand.

2.11 News and law-change reports

Our news desk summarises bills, court rulings, licence decisions and market moves. A summary is journalism, written fast and from public sources; it can miss nuance, and later events may overtake it. Before relying on a legal development, read the gazette notice, judgment or board statement itself.

2.12 Calculators and checklists

Where a page offers a wagering calculator, a bankroll table or a sign-up checklist, its output rests on your inputs plus some simplifying shortcuts of ours. The result is an estimate for orientation, and an operator’s own calculation always takes precedence over ours.

Part 3 – Limits and law

Plenty of our operator buttons carry an affiliate tag, and a registration made through one can earn us money at no extra cost to you. The commercial partnerships page explains everything, the cookies involved in those clicks included.

3.2 Other websites

We point readers to operators, game studios, regulators and help organisations, none of which we run. How they write, sell and look after your data is their own affair, and a hyperlink from us is no blanket seal of approval.

3.3 Names, logos and artwork

Brand names, logos, screenshots and game art belong to their owners, and we show them only to help readers identify the product under discussion. Our own words and graphics belong to the publisher.

3.4 Responsible gambling

Gambling costs money and can turn harmful. Fix a spending limit first and walk away from losses rather than chasing them. The National Responsible Gambling Programme answers its toll-free line, 0800 006 008, in confidence and at no charge, and also helps through responsiblegambling.org.za. The National Gambling Board also keeps a national register of excluded persons, which you can ask to join. See our responsible gaming page too.

3.5 Availability of the site

Pages get moved, merged or retired, and the site may go offline for maintenance or for reasons beyond our reach. Operator links break when a brand shuts down, changes its address or stops serving South African players.

3.6 Corrections

Spotted a mistake? Send us the page and the problem, preferably with a link to the operator’s live terms. Each report is checked, valid ones lead to a corrected page, and the “Updated” line shows when that happened.

3.7 Limitation of liability

Money lost at a casino or bookmaker, a decision you took on the strength of an article, an operator’s behaviour, an error or outdated line, a page that would not load: for none of these does the publisher answer, within whatever bounds South African law draws. Where statute makes liability impossible to exclude – the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 being one example – this clause yields to it.

3.8 Governing law

South African law governs this disclaimer, because South Africa is the audience the site writes for.

3.9 Changes to this page

New legislation or a reworked site means a reworked disclaimer. Its “Updated” line names the current version, and carrying on reading signals acceptance.

3.10 Contact
